Tarpon

Tarpon fishing with Capt Brett Ballay out of Venice, Louisiana

1 - 4 anglers: $950

Louisiana is known in the tarpon fishing circle as one of the best places in the US to hook a monster tarpon. Large concentrations of these fish migrate into the Venice waters during the summer months of July, August and September.

Large tarpon landedAlso know as the Silver King, each year numerous fish weighing in over 200+ pound range are caught and released. These beautiful fish are normally not brought to the scales except during tournaments or if they could possibly be a world record. A few simple meassurements of the fish will yield a good estimate on the weight. At that point the decision can be made whether to bring the fish in or to release it. Any angler wishing to have a fiberglass reproduction can use these same measurements for the cast.

While targeting tarpon, you might also land a Jack crevalle, shark, cobia or bull red. All of these sport fish will test every muscle in your body and are fun to fight.

We provide everything except food and beverages. We will provide you with fishing gear and tackle. Don't forget tp bring rain gear, polorized sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat, warm clothing (it's cooler as the boat is moving), and a camera.

You will need a current Louisiana Fishing License. Out of state anglers may purchase a Charter Trip license that will be vaild for three consecutive days. Visit the State of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website or by telephone at 1-888-765-2602
