Capt. Brent Ballay and Capt. Meredith Ballay, of Cast n Blast Fishing Charters in Venice, LA both accomplished anglers,
We are family-owned and operated and always have been. Brent’s parents, Dave and Debbie Ballay, founded Venice Marina back in 1985.
Venice is an unincorporated community in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana and was best known as an oil and commercial fishing town. Dave Ballay was convinced of the area’s great potential for sports fishing after working on a Venice charter boat since 1977. He was proven correct, and Venice has since become a booming market for tourism creating vast opportunities for fishing charters, guide services, hotels, lodges, and restaurants. The Ballay family has promoted hunting and fishing in this area through strong relationships with both the outdoors and travel media. Print, broadcast, internet - they've enjoyed vast exposure in each.
Venice has a diverse variety of fish. It is known as the starting point for many doing offshore fishing, who then head to Port Eads. Its main offshore rival is nearby Grand Isle. We specialize in shallow-water, inshore fishing and offshore, in and around the Mississippi River delta. Species include: redfish, speckled trout, flounder, tarpon, and cobia.
You’ll love it here like the Ballays do. The hunting is great, incredible fishing, “I can’t explain the feeling when you are out on a flat, looking across the water and there’s a school of reds feeding - just waiting to take a boat ride on ice.”
