Brent’s parents, Dave and Debbie Ballay, founded Venice Marina back in 1985. Venice is an unincorporated community in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana and was best known as an oil and commercial fishing town. Dave Ballay was convinced of the area’s great potential for sports fishing after working on a Venice charter boat since 1977. He was proven correct, and Venice has since become a booming market for tourism creating vast opportunities for fishing charters, guide services, hotels, lodges, and restaurants.
